NAME: Lakepaw
RANK: Apprentice
ALLEGIANCE: WillowClan
IMMEDIATE KIN:
Brookshine (mother)
Floodfield (father)
Cloverpaw (sister)
BASIC APPEARANCE: Gray tabby tom with green eyes.
DETAILED APPEARANCE: Lakepaw takes mostly after his father in terms of looks, though his pelt is more gray than blue and his markings are more tabby than mottled. His clear green eyes are an exact copy of his father's though and are framed with the same pale stripes. A thick pelt makes him look larger than he really is, as beneath his fur he has the same slender frame of his mother along with powerful legs.
PERSONALITY & DESCRIPTION:
Being a leader’s son means that there is a heavy weight resting on the shoulders of this young tom, though some might suggest that he put most of it there himself. Lakepaw has always been aware of his father’s legacy despite being born after Floodfield chose to step down to raise his family, and he has always wished that he could have been alive to see the height of his father’s reign. But as much as he loves hearing stories from his parents and their friends, constantly hearing praise for Floodfield’s leadership has given Lakepaw an unrealistic expectation of what he wants to achieve in his own life. He holds himself to sometimes impossibly high standards and automatically assumes that everyone else does to, and when he can’t grasp a concept immediately he will spend more time beating himself up over it than trying to improve at something he’s already assumed he’ll never be good at. While most cats benefit from being boosted up it never does Lakepaw any favours, just interpreting encouragement as another warning for him not to disappoint. Instead, what he really needs is someone to tell him that failure isn’t the end of the world and that he doesn’t need to push himself to the limit to be a good enough warrior. Everything is a case of black and white for him; if something is good then it is faultless, and if he considers someone bad then they are irredeemable in his eyes. This mentality means that if someone voiced a dislike of Floodfield’s policies to him then he would automatically dislike them, but unlike his sister, Lakepaw isn’t an overly confrontational cat. He would rather be privately frustrated than make a big scene, but while he wouldn’t consider a compromise he would go as far as telling someone why they had annoyed him. Much more of a strategist than a battler, he is much better suited to being on the sidelines forging tactics than the hero of the action. But Lakepaw is yet to realize this, constantly trying to make himself the prodigy of the father he’s so proud of than accept himself for who he is.
