...all I want to is forever dream with you.Brightsplash couldn't stop thinking about Dancingflame. Ever since they'd shared prey and had their first deep, true talk, she found herself drawn to the silver she-cat. Dancingflame made her feel whole in a way she hadn't felt since she'd dated Flareheart, and she knew it was finally time to say something. She'd asked Dancingflame to meet her by the river at moonhigh, to ensure they wouldn't be overheard. She didn't want anyone to know about her feelings in case they weren't reciprocated. If she went through another heartbreak, she couldn't handle the whole Clan talking about it behind her back this time. She watched the moonlight ripple on the steadily shifting river as she waited, perking up as she heard pawsteps behind her. "Dancingflame!" she called, bounding up to greet the she-cat. "Thank you so much for coming."

Dancingflame felt her nerves building as she made her way towards the river, she had been fighting with herself for the past moon, since Brightsplash had been there to comfort her when she had broken down about Mothkit. Since then, she had felt herself wondering about the other she-cat, she knew that both being she-cats wouldn't matter, she remembered the talk regarding Flareheart and Brightsplash's relationship.
Her paws shook slightly as her thoughts whirled thru possibilities of why the other she-cat had asked to meet her, though she found those thoughts pushed away when Brightsplash came bounding up to her, seemingly happy to see her. Smiling, Dancingflame resisted the urge to brush her muzzle against the other. "Of course I came, though I'm a little curious for the reason" she mewed, refusing to let her nerves show.

Brightsplash let out a low rumble at Dancingflame's reaction. She knew she'd been cryptic, but it was for a good reason. In all honestly, she was surprised Dancingflame hadn't asked more questions. "It's nothing upsetting," she assured her, sitting back down as she struggled to find the words. She took a short breath. "Dancingflame, I think I like you. Quite a bit." She looked over at the she-cat, struggling to keep her emotions in check. "And it's so hard to find any sort of private place around here." She let out a low huff, turning to look at the stream. There was nothing else for her to say.

Dancingflame felt herself relax marginally at Brightsplash's assurance that it wasn't anything bad and tilted her head as she waited for the she-cat to explain. She froze for a moment at the words that came, surprised and delighted at the same time, both seeming to war in her. The last sentence shook her from her stupor and caused a slightly amused smile to grace her face. She shifted her paws as she tried to find a way to word her own feelings without ruining it. "I-I like you as well Brightsplash, a-a lot" she mewed with a small smile, flicking her gaze at the other she-cats face before feeling her fur heat up and her gaze shifted towards her paws.

Brightsplash perked up, ears pricking and head lifting as Dancingflame spoke. She glanced over at the she-cat, a purr rising in her chest. “Well that makes things simpler,” she finally said, looking into Dancingflame’s eyes. “It’s been a while since I was with Flareheart. I’d like to try something again.” She stood up, brushing her cheek against Dancingflame. “If that sounds agreeable to you.”

Finally relaxing, Dancingflame purred as she brushed her tail gently against the other she-cats shoulders. "It does, I don't know what happened between you and Flareheart but I wish to see where this would go." she mewed softly, stepping forward to rub her muzzle against Brightsplash's shoulder.

Brightsplash let out a low huff of amusement, leaning into Dancingflame's touch. "Well, that's quite a story. I'm happy to share, if you promise you won't send the tale tumbling about camp until the truth falls apart like a battered moss ball." Despite everything, she cared for Flareheart's secrets. But Dancingflame had a right to know, and she trusted the she-cat to keep the story to herself.

Dancingflame was slightly surprised at Brightsplash's words regarding her telling her what happened between her and Flareheart. "I promise" she mewed softly, her ears flicking as she realized that it would only be fair if she told the other she-cat the truth regarding her daughter. "I also having to share something with you, but it can't be told to anyone at all" she mewed softly, her paws shifting nervously.

Brightsplash wasn't expecting Dancingflame to offer to share a secret in turn. She looked curiously at the she-cat for a moment, before realizing she was waiting for an answer. "Oh, I won't tell a soul," she assured her. Brightsplash looked up at the stars in thought, letting out a low huff. "Flareheart is...a complex cat. I loved her very much, but...I discovered she'd attacked Shrikestar, over something trivial. I couldn't stay with her after that. I detest violence, and to attack a clanmate?" Brightsplash shook her head as if trying to clear her head of bad thoughts. She did miss Flareheart in a way. Breaking up with her had been hard, but she had no regrets.

Dancingflame's ears flicked in surprise at the words, her own thoughts shying away from the violence and understanding why Brightsplash would balk at the knowledge as well. Her own nerves kicked up, her paws shifting with the knowledge she was about to impart. "Brightsplash, I-I broke the code... My kit-ts were sired b-by a tom in Ra-avenclan" she stuttered out, her ears flicking as she avoided the other she-cats gaze.

Brightsplash hadn't been expecting that. She looked away from Dancingflame, staring blankly ahead. She didn't move a muscle as she let the words sink in. Cherryleaf and Mothkit were half-clan? She truly hadn't expected this. Breaking the code was wrong. Dancingflame had done something wrong. But Brightsplash could tell the she-cat was upset, she could scent her fear. Cherryleaf was a wonderful young cat, and Dancingflame was a perfect mother. Brightsplash wasn't StarClan. It wasn't her place to judge, especially for actions that'd occurred so long ago. She finally looked back at Dancingflame. "Well, I can't say I'm delighted," she replied. "But it seems you regret your actions. I'm sure StarClan has forgiven you, Cherryleaf is a valued member of WillowClan. I don't know what we'd do without her." She stepped up to brush her cheek against Dancingflame's. "And if StarClan is forgiven you, so have I." She let out a comforting purr.

Dancingflame felt ready to bolt in the silence that followed, her tail quivering behind her. It felt like an eternity before Brightsplash spoke, her first words had Dancingflame taking a step back before she registered the rest of the words. Her words regarding StarClan had her ears flicking, thinking privately that their ancestors had taken too high of a price. She relaxed minutely as the older she-cat brushed her cheek against hers, a purr settling Dancingflame's nerves. "I regret my actions yes, but I'll never regret my daughter" she said softly, knowing that Brightsplash would understand.

"How could you?" Brightsplash replied, scenting the she-cat's fear. She licked Dancingflame's shoulder kindly, hoping she could soothe her nerves. The news had rippled Brightsplash's thoughts like a paw in a puddle, and she knew her silence must have been agonizing. "I love you just the same," she said, meeting Dancingflame's eyes as she spoke.

Dancingflame relaxed a bit more, letting out a low purr at the words, feeling her heart pound in her chest. "I love you as well" she mewed softly, feeling practically giddy with everything.

Brightsplash felt a sense of calm contentment settle over her. Everything was alright now. She looked up at the moon. "I suppose we ought to return home," she said, interrupting their tranquil moment by the stream with a twinge of regret.

Dancingflame gave a purr and nodded "I suppose" she agreed, her ears flicking as she tried to think of what would happen now. She gave a gentle nudge to Brightsplash with ehr muzzle before seh started back towards camp, keeping beside the other she-cat.
