Flareheart's nose twitched as she walked thru Willowclan territory, she heard the sound of pawsteps behind and wondered how she had been roped into taking Frostpaw out. She resisted the urge to grumble but instead felt her nose twitch once more as she caught the scent of Aspenclan and her mind flashed back to the warning given by Echostar regarding Willowclan's scent crossing the border. Her ears flicked as she wondered if it would be worth it to cross the border and cause Shrikestar some more trouble.

If it was any other day, Frostpaw would be just as displeased as Flareheart.
He was aware that he wasn't the most favorable apprentice, and he honestly lived up to that title with great gusto. But at the moment, a certain apprentice was on his mind: Cherrypaw.
Why couldn't he stop thinking about her?
Was he ill? Brightsplash didn't warn him that socialization would make him sick, because at the moment, he had this strange sensation in his belly. It was like he had a hoard of butterflies fluttering around in there, and he started to feel anxious whenever he was around Cherrypaw. He didn't feel repulsed by her- quite the opposite, really. Then, he'd start feeling hot, not feverish...just warm....
Frostpaw caught himself before he practically crashed into Flareheart, pausing to let the warrior walk ahead before he shook out his pelt. He was so lost in thought, he was swerving around as he walked as if he was on catmint.

Flareheart turned her head and spotted the way Frostpaw was walking, she nearly growled instead she spoke, deciding to try and figure out shat it was that was causing this weird behavior and if she could use it. "Anything on your mind Frostpaw?"

The apprentice glanced up at Flareheart with a semi-glare, contemplating telling the warrior to mind her own business. However...Flareheart was a she-cat, and Cherrypaw was a she-cat. He might be able to use this situation to his advantage.
The rosetted tom hesitated for a few heartbeats before finally deciding to admit what was nagging at him. "Well...someone is on my mind, really." Maybe he should give her a name? He was uncertain if Flareheart was a big gossiper, and he didn't exactly want word getting around that he was turning soft. Yet, he wanted to impress Brightsplash, and more than anything else at the moment, he wanted to make Cherrypaw smile from ear to ear.
Sulkily, almost as if he was being scolded for it, Frostpaw glanced away. "...It's Cherrypaw."
There! It was off his chest.

Flareheart nearly snorted in amusement at Frostpaw's glare, him trying to seem intimidating just amused her but she kept those responses locked away. Instead her ears perked as he actually decided to speak, humming in understanding at his words regarding someone. Her own experience had been like the same, until it had ended. it was another few moments before Frostpaw expanded on his words, her head tilted "Its normal, when you find someone you like." she mewed, keeping her voice normal, not wishing to seem like she was too interested.
"hard part is trying to figure out if they return the feelings"

Hold up- how could Cherrypaw not return his feelings?
Sure, he was a little cold and rough around the edges, but he was a very, very cool guy. Not to mention, he had to be the best-looking tom in the clan, despite his size. Or at least, that was what Frostpaw tried to tell himself every sunrise before he headed off to start his day.
He narrowed his eyes up at Flareheart, studying her as if he lacked faith in her words. "Well, then, how do I ensure that she does return my feelings?" He could certainly win her over with his charm and good-looks, but a little backup could never hurt.

*Hook, line, and sinker* Flareheart thought before her head tilted as if she was thinking about how to answer Frostpaw's question "well, there's no sure way to ensure her feelings are returned, but it usually helps if you bring her gifts or little tokens." she mewed as they came upon the Aspenclan border, spotting some flowers that were just over the border and wondered how far she could push the young tom. "Usually flowers are a good bet" she said with a shrug.

He never even considered if Flareheart had a mate or not, or if she was even experienced in the romanticizing area. However, the picture of Cherrypaw clouded his brain, preventing him from properly thinking his actions through. He pondered over the she-cat's words before glancing around.
He had never run off to pick flowers, because it wasn't exactly a hobbie of a tough and impressive warrior like himself. It seemed like a weak and feeble thing to do, but for Cherrypaw...
...anything.
After surveying the area, he gave Flareheart a hard stare. "Fine." He decided at last with a slight curl of his lip. "Where do I get flowers for her?"

Flareheart tilted her head "look around, usually areas near trees are a good place that they grow, or a meadow but that's less likely for where we are" she responded, noting that the flowers she had spotted earlier had been near the roots of a tree. They were only about a tail-length over the border but Flareheart knew that it was probably more than enough to cause issues with their neighboring clan.

Frostpaw wasn't aware of their location, nor did he really care at the moment. His priority right now, as humiliating as it was, was to pick flowers for Cherrypaw. He could only pray to StarClan that nobody would spot him during the act, and that Flareheart would keep her mouth shut. Moving a few lengths further into the border after casting Flareheart a "don't-you-say-anything" glower, Frostpaw began his search for pretty things. Eventually, he did stumble across a small patch of little yellow flowers, so he swiped those up without a word before trotting back over to the warrior.
"Do these look nice?"

Muzzle twitching in amusement, Flareheart merely watched as Frostpaw crossed over the border and came back with some flowers in his jaws. She gave a nod at his question "they look nice" she said, holding in her glee at the fact that there would be trouble brewing with this little excursion.

In the back of his mind, Frostpaw thanked StarClan that Flareheart didn't tell him that his flowers were unworthy. He had managed to collect those pitiful golden things without being spotted the first time, and he was uncertain if he'd be so lucky at a second attempt.
Why did she look so excited about it?
Ugh, she better not go telling all the other apprentices...this memory would haunt him to the end of his days, anyways. That was enough punishment.
"Alright then. We good to go back now?" Frostpaw gave an impatient swish of his tail as he spoke through the bundle of flowers, forgetting that he'd have to march through camp with them.

"Yes, we should be good" Flareheart agreed before turning back towards camp, forcefully keeping her tail still as she wondered when the retaliation for this stunt would happen, though she was certain it would happen sooner than later.
