DETAILED APPEARANCE: A pale brown tabby tom with coarse fur and glassy gray-green eyes, he's fairly average in all aspects. The scar across his nose, the cuts across his pelt, and a clawmark purposefully carved under his chin suggest a different story.
PERSONALITY & DESCRIPTION: Kaelan seems ordinary upon first impression. He smiles at the right times, says the correct things, and he seems like a successful conversationalist. In another life, Kaelan would be considered quietly confident, knowledgeable, and even bookish. But this is not the case, and he is none of those things, because in this life his personality was twisted by his experiences. Instead, he is cowardly and misguided. Watching his mother constantly beat and eventually sink his father to his grave, he was terrified that he was next in line for his mother's unspeakable horrors. And he was, only a few short days later, without being able to defend himself. Being the eldest brother of two, one might expect him to protect them, if the pattern was any more evident to him. He never did. Instead, out of terror that next time he'd be dead, he staged a feat no one would expect of him: studious, soft, weak Kaelan killed. The pale brown tabby murdered one of his siblings and blamed it on the other in the hopes that he'd be forgotten, but in his fear-frenzied plan, he made a grave mistake—he left a sole, single witness—himself. Under the weight of his deeds, his plan crumbled. A few simple questions from his mother and he spilled everything, then fled. Never seeing her or his other sibling again, Kaelan lost himself in his agony, eventually growing lifeless. Still clinging to bits and pieces of his smarts though, he taught himself how to forget everything in the moments that mattered, and learned how to hide behind himself. Meeting a she-cat named Isae was a salve on his scars, but not even she could quiet the numbing worry that his mother would one day return for him—a thought that still haunts him. He grew distant when their kits arrived, fearful for them and for himself, and found a steady comfort in the disinterest that formed around them. Ignorance isn't always bliss, though, and the realization that he made a grave mistake will surely destroy him.
