BASIC APPEARANCE: Black tom with fern-green eyes.

DETAILED APPEARANCE: A large, muscular tom with a deep black coat and large, fern-green eyes. His stature makes him appear intimidating, but those who know him well liken him to a gentle giant.

PERSONALITY & DESCRIPTION: Sootwing is an intelligent cat, one who always has an inquisitive expression on his face. Because of this, he does not appear as threatening as cats of his size typically do. While he does keep his claws sharpened, he is fairly passive when it comes to fighting, as he prefers much more diplomatic approaches. Sootwing is a quick thinker and highly adaptive to unexpected situations, and this makes him highly successful under stress. It is rare to find him engaged in idle conversation, as he usually never speaks his opinion unless asked, and it is rare to find him talking over listening. Whenever he does speak, it is concise and with purpose. He says what he means and no more, which may appear in other lights as aloofness, ill-sociability,or shyness; however, this is not the case, because he is simply very direct. Advice-giving is considered his specialty because of the unique outlooks he is able to provide by looking at problems in a straightforward and unobstructed manner. Despite his private and introverted nature, he is known to have a teasing demeanor which he brings out at random. Sootwing is a tom that loves boosting others up and giving them confidence or a shoulder to lean on. In this way he is very content with being the backbone or shadow of other cats. This may be mistakenly taken as a lack of ambition, but he has no will or desire to seek out power for himself or take the lead; it is more likely than not that he will refuse it to help someone more deserving of it in his eyes. The black tom is deeply sensitive and very attuned to reading the emotions of others. His mindset is rarely judgmental because of his ability to believe in others and their potential which is almost limitless. Likewise, he has accepted all his flaws as well as his family's, considering them definitions of their personalities and who they are.While he accepts others’ flaws, he has struggled with his own ever since a bad fall left his hind leg crippled, leaving him no choice but to retire to an elder earlier than he wanted. Sootwing’s outlook on life has darkened since, and he isn’t sure he’ll ever return to the light he once saw in everything.
