Acorndrop led Dreamfeather away from the meeting and prying ears, slowing as soon as he was sure they were alone. He could feel himself shaking. "So, uh..." he stuttered, looking down at his paws. He needed to just say it. It'd be worse if he didn't. "After the fire, and the flood, I, uh...well, I hooked up with these two she-cats, one from WillowClan, and one from Aspen. I was upset about Frostfawn, and I made bad choices. It was just supposed to be a distraction, but then uh...I..." He sighed. "One of them got pregnant. A she-cat in WillowClan. And now I have kits there, just one, n-now." His heart clenched as he thought of Mothkit, the daughter he'd never been able to meet. "And I'm just so sorry, because we...we've been getting close. And I thought you should know. I haven't met my daughter yet. I think she was just made an apprentice, unless getting sick held her back. I love her. I'll always love her, I understand if you don't want to stay friends because of this, but please. Keep this a secret. Her mother and I don't want anyone to know she's half-clan, so she can grow up without discrimination." He sighed, and took a step back, shaking worse than ever. "I just thought you ought to k-know," he stuttered anxiously.

Following after Acorndrop, Dreamfeather had a small feeling of what he wanted to say to her, especially after the meeting. She listened to the words spoken, having to admit she didn't think it would have involved kits, thinking it might have just been him having a friendship or relationship with a cat from another clan during the flood and fire. She stayed silent for a couple of moments to digest the information before speaking, choosing her words carefully. "As much as I do say you broke the warrior code, I think I better than anyone can understand, or at least more than most." she mewed, her tail curling tightly over her paws as she realized what exactly she was going to reveal. "You need not worry about me revealing anything about your kit, and I won't back away from you either. I... I'm a half-clan cat Acorndrop, caused by my mother getting involved with a tom from Willowclan" she mewed, figuring she would have no backlash from Acorndrop regarding her heritage but the fear that had been inside her since she found out was still prevalent.

As Dreamfeather replied, Acorndrop visibly relaxed, slumping a bit and letting out a sigh. Before he could thank her, however, she continued. His eyes widened as Dreamfeather shared her secret. He wanted to ask a million questions, but held back, knowing she was probably anxious about the confession. "Oh," he said, before shaking his head quickly. "I mean, of course that's fine! Duh, I can't...I don't care at all about that, Dreamfeather. I mean, I care if you care, but uh, it's not..." He shuffled anxiously, unsure exactly what to say. "You're a member of RavenClan! And you're my friend, and that's all that matters." He looked up at her brightly. "Thanks for agreeing to keep my secret, I just...don't think it's fair to my kit, you know? She deserves not to have to grow up with any stigma, but..." He looked away. "It upsets me a lot, sometimes. I want to be a father, I want to know her. I don't know if I made a mistake or not. Is saying I made a mistake calling her a mistake? Because she's not!" His tail whipped fiercely behind him, and he looked up, fire in his eyes. "I'll never apologize for what I did because someone I love dearly came from my actions, but I just...wish I could be with her. So I don't really know how to feel."

Dreamfeather felt a smile tug at her as she listened to Acorndrop try to find the right words to say. She listened to his words about his kit, thinking before speaking. "I won't ever ask you to apologize, while others may see her as a mistake I don't think its as black and white as some would define it. I wouldn't want to place the feeling of being judged for something you can't control on anyones shoulders." she mewed, her foreclaws digging into the ground under her. She didn't know if she would have had the same opinion during her early apprenticeship but she had grown up and experienced the world in a way many others hadn't. "I can't help with the want to be with her, but I can say that there is no wrong in wanting to know your kit."

"It's not yours to help, Dreamfeather," he murmured, stepping closer. "By listening and understanding, you've done more than you know." He sighed, the fire fizzling out as the reality returned to him. "But we're...I don't know. I just thought you might want to know, Dreamfeather. So you can make your choice." He didn't think she'd be that shallow, but self-hatred washed over him anew, and he dug his claws into the earth in similar fashion.

The hesitation and tense posture that emerged, had Dreamfeather acting without thinking about it, moving forward, she hesitantly brushed her muzzle against Acorndrops, hoping that she hadn't been reading the situation between them wrong. "I've made my choice, I'll always be there for you for as long as you will allow" she mewed softly.

Acorndrop felt a rabbit leap in his chest as she touched him. What had he done to deserve her? This wonderful she-cat who'd forgiven him for leading her into the wolf's maw, who now accepted his greatest secret without asking him to forsake his daughter? Who now still wanted to be with him? He pressed his head against hers, closing his eyes. "Thank you," he murmured. "Thank you so much, Dreamfeather. You're..." He sighed. "You're everything."

Dreamfeather gave a soft purr at the words. "I'm never good with words but I do care for you Acorndrop, a lot. I... I think I might even be falling in love with you" she mewed softly, her muscles quivering slightly at the admission.

Acorndrop moved back to look at her, a bright, somewhat forlorn look in his eyes. "That's funny," he said, in a choked voice. "Cause I think I might be falling in love with you, too." His tail fell low and unusually still, resting on the ground. How could StarClan be this merciful? To grant him a chance at happiness and a family, after he'd been so foolish and made so many mistakes? He couldn't waste this. "Please, Dreamfeather. Let's make something good, together. If you'll have me, I want to be there for you. I want to help you, support you."

A purr rumbled in her chest at Acorndrops words, Dreamfeather couldn't ever put into words the feelings in her chest that seemed to flutter and pulse. "Always and for as long as you'll have me" she agreed with a smile.

"Thank you. Thank you so much."
Acorndrop felt a peace beyond joy, a peace that seemed to complete every need and solve every problem. This was perfect. She was perfect, and together, everything would be alright.
