Echofrost yawned as she heaved herself out of her nest, mournfully giving up the warm spot that was hers. Shaking out her fur, she slipped into the clearing before making her way to the apprentices den. Despite the early mornings, she loved the fact that she had an apprentice once more, it had been so long since she had trained Loonleap. Sticking her head into the apprentices den, she searched out the familiar fur of Poppypaw and gave a small smile before calling out "Poppypaw" making sure to try and keep her voice down enough to not wake any of the other apprentices.

Poppypaw was already awake when she heard Echofrost call her name, as she'd been woken by Fenpaw leaving the den with Amberhaze a while earlier and had been too full of wonderings about what her first day might be like to go back to sleep. She met her mentor's face with an eager smile, whispering a quiet "Hi Echofrost," as she was very aware of the rest of the apprentices still sleeping around her. As much as she sort of wished that she could be training with Whispermoon instead, she felt beyond honoured to have been given the Clan's deputy as her mentor as well as more than a little smug at the outrage that had been on Yarrowpaw's face. For both reasons, after thinking about it before she fell asleep the previous night she'd decided that she would throw herself into every bit of her warrior training without pining for anything else.

"Hope you slept alright, we've got a long day ahead" Echofrost mewed once Poppypaw was out of the den, her gaze doing a quick once over of the she-cat. "we'll be doing a quick border patrol before making our way to the training hollow for some hunting techniques" she explained as she beckoned for Poppypaw to follow her. She had been tempted to form an actual patrol with another warrior but had a desire to spend the first day of training with just her and Poppypaw.

"Fine thank you. And ok!" Poppypaw said, still smiling as she followed her mentor out into the territory. Her eyes were wide as she walked through the forest trees for the first time, trying to take everything in at once even though she knew there would be endless time to enjoy the territory in all it's glory. "Which border are we checking?" she asked, unable to get her bearings enough to work it out herself. She was excited to have a proper go at hunting techniques after moons of practising with the other kits but the thought of glimpsing what was over the borders was taking priority in her mind for the time being.

Echofrost cast a glance back as they left camp, holding in a chuff of amusement at Poppypaw's wide eyes as she saw the forest. She focused back on the trail and took a turn that would lead them towards Ravenclan territory, though the tension between Willowclan had sort of melted down it was still there to a degree. "We'll be checking the RavenClan border. Do you know what Ravenclan territory is like?" she asked, figuring that giving out some info while walking would be a good start to training.
