"...and see such different things."
----
Seeing the world so differently wasn't always the best. It had its interesting moments, where she could watch the colors around a cat change with their mood, with how she saw them. It also had its downsides, like when she got overwhelmed and had to leave camp because there were too many colors flashing before her eyes as she went about her warrior duties. Siltgaze had gotten somewhat better with coping with that, the overwhelming amount of colors and how it made her eyes hurt sometimes. Sometimes all she needed was to just stand still and close her eyes and just breathe.
She was up with the sun, like usual, checking on her brother and mother briefly before visiting the deputy to see what patrol she would be on today. She hadn't been needed early, so she plucked a thin mouse from the fresh-kill pile and quickly ate it, ears pinned to her head as she kept her gaze down to clear her mind. It wasn't working today though, and with a resigned sigh she finished her poor meal and made her way out of camp, away from all the swirling colors that threatened to drown her mind. Her paws carried her across the territory to the borders of the outsider lands, and she stared out into the rolling fields of heather and grass, sitting down and just enjoying the simpler colors of nature.
