NAME: Honey
AFFILIATION: Outsider, Elektra and Lady's Group
IMMEDIATE KIN:
Joy (mother)
Pitch Black (father)
Echo (sister)
Shadow (brother)
BASIC APPEARANCE: An orange she-cat with green eyes.
DETAILED APPEARANCE: Honey's appearance is similar to her late mother's. She is a fluffy, light orange tabby she-cat with light green eyes. Her flank bears two nasty, jagged scars from an encounter with an eagle in her youth.
PERSONALITY & DESCRIPTION: With a name like honey, you would expect this she-cat to be sugar sweet. Maybe she was, at one point, but life's been far too cruel for her to live up to her name. Honey lost her family to coyotes at a young age, and was forced to grow up alone. Throughout her kithood, Honey was helped by some and abandoned by many, and taught herself much of what she knows. She grew into a strong, intelligent, and capable young cat, surviving an encounter with an eagle with only scars. Honey’s desperation to survive caused her to betray allies and abandon cats in need, and now Honey looks back on these days with deep shame and guilt. Her distrust of strangers was born in this time, as she witnessed firsthand the lengths some would go to remain alive. Honey also became dangerously independent, refusing help even when she desperately needed it. After a fight with a fox went badly, Honey encountered Angel and Sea, and agreed to remain loyal to them in exchange for food and shelter while she healed. Once Honey learned who they truly were, she deeply regretted this decision. As she helped them terrorize, torture, and kill, Honey came to the decision that with strength comes the ability (and obligation) to protect. Honey grew to dislike senseless violence, while remaining willing to enter a fight if necessary. She no longer valued her own survival over her morality, but she knew there was no escape from the cats who controlled her, especially now that Angel was pregnant and Honey was the kits’ only hope for survival. On a patrol into unknown territory, Honey reunited with her long lost father, but was unable to leave Angel and Sea to be with him. When Angel’s kits were born, the she-cat abandoned them in the snow, and asked Honey to end their lives. Honey pleaded for their lives, and asked Angel to feed them until they could be weaned, claiming she would train them as soldiers. The she-cat agreed, knowing it was the only way to keep Honey on their side. Honey knew she couldn’t stay, and so she made plans to bring the kits to new mothers far from the ensuring war. On the night of her escape, however, Belle was murdered while she was escorting Baxter away from the camp, and she returned to an empty nest and bloody paws. Honey attacked both she-cats, and was taken hostage. The loss devastated the Honey, and “what-ifs” ran in her mind over and over, even after she was rescued by her father and his allies. Living in a safe community has offered Honey peace of mind, but looking back at her past, Honey dislikes what she sees and is quick to help others in an effort to atone. She is blunt when it comes to emotional matters, expressing how she truly feels readily and sometimes awkwardly. This trait helps her to cope with her trauma, as she does not keep emotions bottled up inside. Honey cares little for authority, religion, and tradition, and is quick to ignore them if it suits her. When presented with situations that bore her, Honey makes no effort to feign interest or participate in social niceties. She simply says how she feels and expects others to do the same. In regards to the dark pasts of her father and his allies, she is very forgiving and understanding, having been in a similar place herself. She can lie easily, but finds it difficult to mask her emotions. Honey is more impulsive than careful, and is somewhat hot-headed when it comes to matters she’s passionate about. Her impulsivity can lead her to reckless acts, but it also allows her to plan quickly, which is a good in a crisis. It takes quite a bit to get her worked up, but once she’s been wronged, Honey doesn’t let go easily. Currently, Honey has been struggling with her desire for revenge against Sea and Angel, the cats who manipulated her, hurt her, and killed the kit she loved as her own. Will her desire for vengeance overcome the love she holds for her friends and family?
