NAME: Poppypaw
RANK: Medicine Cat Apprentice
ALLEGIANCE: AspenClan
IMMEDIATE KIN:
Cloverstripe (mother)
Shadebreeze (father)
Anisepaw (sister)
Yarrowpaw (sister)
BASIC APPEARANCE: Dark tortoiseshell she-cat with blue eyes.
DETAILED APPEARANCE: Poppypaw's tortoiseshell pelt is a striking mix of black and ginger with not even the smallest hint of white. Pale blue eyes stand out like twin stars from her otherwise dark features. Her short fur is kept neatly groomed, an ode to her very particular personality, and while not particularly small in stature she is lithe in frame.
PERSONALITY & DESCRIPTION: Perhaps a perpetually worried expression wouldn’t be unusual for a cat who had moons worth of experience beneath their paws, but for Poppypaw it’s been a defining feature of hers since her kithood. At heart she’s truly an optimist, which could be seen as a contradiction to her overprotective tendencies, but while she can get hung up on worst case scenarios she would always place her trust in the world being kinder than it is cruel. She will fret endlessly when those she cares about are in danger and can be snappy towards cats when they create troubles for themselves, but she has enough self-control to talk herself into believing that all will turn out right in the end. While she can be bashful around strangers she’s quick to decide whether she likes someone or not, and she is loyal to a fault to the cats she calls her friends. But when relationships turn sour she can refuse to let them go, and would pursue a lost friend endlessly with the belief that she could make everything better again. She’s predominantly a peacekeeper, determined to be a force for good in the world, but if someone was to attack her then she wouldn’t hesitate to fight her corner. Her disposition for healing doesn’t end there; Poppypaw’s interest in herbs stemmed from her earliest days and she quickly found herself drawn to the medicine cat’s den like a moth to a flame. It can’t be denied that she is sensitive, some might say too sensitive to be a medicine cat, but she can put on a courageous face if she needs to and channel her sorrow into only being more kind. She can be prone to panic in stressful situations especially when there’s uncertainty involved, but when others are at stake she can keep her emotions under firm wraps until the need for unbreakable control is over. It’s in the aftermath of a crisis that she’ll fall apart, too wrapped up in everything that could have gone wrong to remember that she was capable enough to handle it all. But very few cats will see that side of Poppypaw as she prefers to be known instead for the traits she’s more proud of; endlessly kind, fiercely compassionate, and quietly brave.
