NAME: Paledawn
RANK: Elder
ALLEGIANCE: RavenClan
IMMEDIATE KIN:
Jadefeather (mother)
Stoneclaw (father)
Kitesun (brother)
Sootwing (brother)
Ashenstar (half-sister)
Cedarbreeze (half-brother)
BASIC APPEARANCE: Pointed fawn tabby she-cat with blue eyes.
DETAILED APPEARANCE: Blue-grey tabby points lie on a background of pale fawn, giving Paledawn a delicate appearance that contradicts the difficult job she held for seasons. The grey hairs on her muzzle are the only tell of her age as her dark blue eyes are as sharp as ever. Her fur is semi-long and is always perfectly kept, aside from the thin scar on her upper lip from a grieving Clanmate who took his anger out on her and the larger one that splits the fur on her shoulder from a fight with a fox several seasons ago.
PERSONALITY & DESCRIPTION:
Sarcasm and bluntness are not often traits associated with a good Medicine Cat, although anyone who knows Paledawn will know that she is not truly as curt as she can appear to be. Her soft tabby fur may portray a personality timid and sweet, but a single disapproving look from her deep blue eyes would stop even the most devious apprentice in their tracks. When off duty she can barely hold a conversation without making at least one witty or even snide remark, but it isn’t hard to tell that her words hold only affection. Beneath her outer contempt lies a cat with incredible empathy and compassion, and her kind words often make her the cat everyone goes to in times of trouble for reassurance. But she would never withhold the truth from any cat; in terms of delivering unwelcome news she is always realistic and honest. Paledawn is undeniable a talented Medicine Cat, and she takes great pride in her work and the service she gives to RavenClan. It is virtually unheard of for her to make a mistake, as she scarcely rushes a diagnosis and is incredible considerate in dealing with her patients. She has always valued relationships forged through experience more than blood; although she loves her siblings dearly, her distant mother lead to her growing much closer to her mentor and relying on her for guidance instead. This has also become the case between Paledawn and her own apprentice Dartwing who she thinks of as the son she could never have, their familial banter showing how close the bond between them is. Since kithood she always admired the work of the Medicine Cat, and there was never any doubt in her mind that she wanted to help the Clan with herbs rather than claws. But watching her brothers receive their warrior names without her left her doubting whether or not she had made the right choice. It could never be said that Paledawn isn’t happy with her position she held in life, but there were days when she wanted nothing more than the uncomplicated life of a warrior. The most obvious of those were the days she stole with the cat who was her mate in almost every sense; Tawnyflame was the the only thing that could have possibly persuaded her away from the life she loved, and they enjoyed a secret relationship throughout Paledawn's apprentice days. But when she took over as the Clan's sole medicine cat she forced herself to see sense, though the two she-cats still promised each other that they would retire together one day and be true to themselves at long last. Tawnyflame's tragic early death was a blow that Paledawn never truly recovered from, and while alone in the elder's den she can only look forward to being reunited with the cat she's waited a lifetime for.
