WC drama:Shrike never received his nine lives because he was too afraid to receive what he thought might be StarClan's judgment for his deeds. He lies to the clan and takes up the name Shrikestar as a falsehood. Whether as a coincidence or from suspicion, Hay and Flare find out and (maybe Bean helps/does a lot of the work so I'm not RPing with myself?) corner him and force the truth out of him. He either runs/is chased, or is injured and his body dumped in the outlands. In any case, he is driven out. Hay announces to the clan that Shrike was a traitor and lied to all of them (actually true perfectly enough) and takes over leadership.
What can happen after:
- Some cats suspect foul play and actively try to figure out what happened (cats that think leadership should be transferred traditionally)
- If Briar is in WC at this time, she would probably witness everything. Maybe she sneaks to RC to warn her siblings, and to enlist them to get RC's help. Especially if she's fearful about being suspected. What will RC do?
- Hay isn't actually a terrible leader, which leads to much confusion. Even if he didn't obtain it ethically, is it right to remove him?
- Echo? What's her reaction? What will AC do?
- Shrike stumbles into Blossom. Maybe Shrike takes her back to RC in a bid to return her memory and set the record straight on everything about him.
- Shrike stumbles into Kadaj again. Does anything major happen?
- Coyote knows his kits practically staged a mutiny in another clan. Wot the hecc is he supposed to do?
-Does Falcon try to appeal to his kits again with a new leadership change/power struggle in WC? Does Owl's murder have any impact on current events?
-Swift has shrike’s babies at that time. Oh nu.
Flood stepped down rather than died as leader, so some look to him to take back over once Shrike is chased out or at least appoint a new deputy to become leader. But others think that since Flood appointed Shrike it's a sign of his poor judgement so the Clan is split between Flood and Hay. It's decided a physical fight happens, and Flood is killed by Hay since he's very old by this point. Tf Hay becomes leader, and possibly appoints someone like Mari from team flood as his deputy to appease both sides.
The two sides: Floodstar, where clan life was tame, but he allowed shrike to become leader and set off these problems. Haystar, who took leadership unconventionally and a bit more aggressively, but exposed all the lies going on in the process.
Flood was quite happy for everyone to have their secrets, eg dancing and her kits, cloudy and ellie coming into the clan, letting sorrel and ivory stay, stuff like that. he was not someone to insist on truth if it threatened the peace. So as much as that worked while flood was leader, it would have left a minefield for shrike to navigate since there were so many secrets under the surface. it just happened that his was the first to come out.
Shrike may end up never coming back to the Clan and living as an outsider. Haystar probably will recieve nine lives and stay leader permanently unless something happens to redeem Shrike. Whether Mari is Shrike's deputy or not she will certainly be suspicious and will openly oppose Hay's leadership, and will investigate into what really happened.
Olive will also be a wildcard in this whole shebang. She will likely side with Hay and could possibly be involved in getting Shrike exposed? We'll see.
Briar will be keeping the lowest profile possible to avoid being called out, and will possibly go back to RC from how isolated she feels without her father there.
After the take over, someone is either extremely determined that the rule of accession be followed or they hate Haystar to a degree that they try to poison him with Death Berries stuffed into a piece of prey. Flareheart is looking out for Haystar and notices something suspicious either about the prey itself or the fact that it was maybe pushed on Haystar a little forcefully and steps in. She ends up taking a bite and dies after eating the poisoned prey, leading to an uproar in the clan and a search for who was responsible.
