NAME: Hazelblossom
AGE: 13 moons (at deletion)
RANK: Warrior
AFFILIATION: AspenClan
IMMEDIATE KIN:
Mintgaze (mother)
Heronfeather (father)
Applenose (brother)
Embersplash (brother)BASIC APPEARANCE: A dilute tortoiseshell she-cat with pale gold-green eyes.
DETAILED APPEARANCE:
Hazelblossom has always been the smallest of her kin. She stands well below her parents and her siblings, topping out at half the height of her tallest brother (Applenose). She was well fed, but for all Mintgaze's and Heronfeather's efforts she failed to grow beyond the earliest months of her apprenticehood. Hazelblossom goes through great lengths to make up for her size with athleticism as a result of this. She's well-muscled for someone so petite, padded generously with enough lean muscle to ripple just beneath the surface of her skin. She seems to take after her mother's side of the family in terms of fur and coloration, echoing Mintgaze's light, feathery blue-gray, white, and pale orange pelt, though she has her father's eyes - a patchwork of jade green and golden-orange - and softly-rounded face, along with his bold tabby stripes. Her nose is dappled pink and black, and her tail is a slim gray-orange plume (often held low enough to sweep the ground). There are almost always twigs, leaves, and other bits of debris clinging to her plush coat.
PERSONALITY & DESCRIPTION:
Mild-mannered. Quiet. Nervous. Where Hazelblossom's brothers are proud and confident, she's humble and self-doubting; where her mother is fierce and sharp-tongued, she's shy and soft-spoken; where her father is bold and unapologetic, she's timid and modest. She lacks the self-assurance Mintgaze and Heronfeather tried so desperately to instill in their children, unable to dig up the feelings of worth buried far below her own crippling uncertainties. Truth be told, Hazelblossom knows she's utterly inadequate in her parents' eyes. Her brothers have always been better than she is at the things that seem to matter. Stronger, faster, braver, louder. She faded into their shadows the moment she was brought into the world, so she clings tight to the good qualities she does have, hoping someone will notice. For all her faults, she has intelligence and cleverness. Kindness. Compassion. She loves Applenose and Embersplash with all her heart - hatred, jealousy, and resentment will never come naturally to her - but she still struggles to think of them without a tinge of longing sadness. It's clear that her parents adore her. It's also clear, however, that they're disappointed in the cat she is. She's undersized and underwhelming. Somewhere beneath her insecurities, though, hidden behind stuttering words and downcast eyes, there is a fierce, steely sort of determination smoldering within Hazel's soul. It doesn't often show, but she's intensely devoted and ferociously protective. Her heart burns with the kind of passion that leads cats to grand acts of courage and defiance, that gives them the grit and fortitude to plant their paws and muscle through. She's soft, gentle, and demure, but she's also gutsy, stubborn, and surprisingly spunky. It hurts that her parents don't praise her the way they praise her brothers -- but she's a full-fledged Warrior now, ready to prove herself, and while the lack of acknowledgment on their part thus far is disheartening, she's comforted by the thought that, eventually, they'll have to notice her... probably.
