Cloverkit wove her way amongst the bustling Clan, darting underfoot in long hops, like a rabbit. She stopped when she saw Lakekit, tail up and alert as she bounced around her brother. “C’mon, Lakekit!” she called. “I’ve got a game for us to play! It’s really really cool. But you gotta come right now!” She looked at him with shining eyes, hardly staying still for a moment.

The clearing was a big place to be, Lakekit realised as he padding in amongst his Clanmates for the first time by himself. Brookshine had been with them the first time they left the Nursery and Cloverkit had been much closer by his side the second time, but with how far ahead she'd darted he supposed that this counted as his first solo venture outside the Nursery. That was a nice thought. He looked up as Cloverkit was suddenly circling him excitedly, and he found a grin making its way to his own face as he nodded eagerly. "I'm coming, I'm coming!" he said, finding a new wave of confidence to follow her through the crowd to wherever she was trying to take him.

Cloverkit turned away as soon as he answered, streaking through camp without checking to make sure he was keeping up. She finally stopped at fresh-kill pile, pawing at a loose feather on the ground. "This fell off a bird!" she cried to Lakekit, picking it up in her mouth. "'ome on! Le's 'ill it!" She stepped back from the pile before setting it down. "That's a dangerous AspenClan warrior right there! They're crossing our border! What do we do?" She wiggled as she prepared to pounce, before springing onto the feather and pinning it under her paws. "We strike!"

It was a struggle to keep up with Cloverkit but Lakekit did his best, almost tripping over his feet a couple of times but making it out of the crowd with all limbs and tail intact. He only really knew where they were when she stopped by the fresh-kill pile, but any attempts at trying to orient himself properly were forgotten when Cloverkit was talking again. "I think it's already dead- oh- ok," he pointed out before trailing off when she mentioned a warriors game. Grinning at her infectious excitement, he yelled "Yeah!" before pouncing beside her and skidding a little with the feather underpaw.

"Get back to your territory, feather-fur!" Cloverkit yelled, kicking the feather with her back paws as she attacked it quite thoroughly. She scrambled to her paws, eyes shining. "I think we got them!" She bounced about, pawing at the feather as she darted around Lakekit. "Do you want to see my secret move?" she asked, looking at Lakekit with a mischievous glint in her eyes. Her brother was absolutely the nicest cat ever, but he wasn't the fiercest. That's why she had to protect him. And protecting involved training him to be tougher, and training involved a bit of pouncing on him, sometimes. That's what she'd tell Mom and Dad. "Jump and wham!" She jumped up onto Lakekit and as she leapt over him, brought her sheathed paw down on his head. She landed on him and the two tumbled. Cloverkit gasped for breath. "It's definetely...the best move ever."

Lakekit scrambled out the way as Cloverkit came in with a flying kick, slightly scared for a moment that he was going to get hit. "Yeah please!" he nodded eagerly when she offered to show him a secret move, though he wondered too late if he should have been a little wary of the mischevious look on her face. Sure enough he was being slammed down to the ground a second later, legs shooting out in all directions, and he managed to smile goofily back up at his sister. Then they were tumbling across the floor for a second before he landed on his back breathing hard. "It works well," he agreed, looking over at Cloverkit with a breathless smile.

Cloverkit landed splayed out on her side, her chest heaving as she struggled to catch her breath. She simply nodded in response to her brother, pushing to her paws and pressing her nose against his head. "You're okay?" she murmured, realizing that she might've really scared him, even if she'd been having a lot of fun. And that wouldn't do at all, she loved her brother, and she wanted him to have fun too. Part of protecting was protecting him from being too scared. "We can play a game you want to play, if you want." His games were usually much more relaxed, and Cloverkit was pretty tired for right now. She'd make Lakekit tough by pouncing on him, but just once or twice a day. That was probably enough.
