Tinybreath wanted to hiss slightly as she tripped over a stick that was left outside the elders den, kicking it away with her leg she huffed as she slipped into the elders den "stupid sticks" she muttered as she made her way to her nest, the steps easy and comfortable, though she made a note to step around the nest where Raggedtooth now resided. Her nose twitched as she took in the scents, her ears flicking as she heard breathing and assumed the tom was either sleeping or dozing and didn't wish to disturb him.

"Careful. You're starting to sound as old as your title," he grumbled. Not the grumble of someone who was in a size, just perfectly comfortable and content. So comfortable and content it almost took too much energy to speak. Yet his tone was still light, the teasing evident. Breaking away from his comfort, he lifted himself up in his nest with a groan, his bones feeling as if they were crackling.

Ears twitching at the words, Tinybreath snorted "looks whose talking" she shot back, her tone teasing. The sound of movement gave her a seconds pause as she settled into her own nest, she figured that Raggedtooth was sitting up. She heard his groan and felt sympathy, knowing that he was older than her and has harder time with somethings.

Raggedtooth chuckled at her retort. "That's because I am old," he replied, stretching out his muscles, his back audibly cracking in the process. He felt relief after the crack, but surprisingly settling back into a relaxed position made him wince slightly. "Although I think my body is much older than I am."

Tinybreath felt her nose twitch "I don't know, you look the same to me" she said cheerfully, her posture relaxed and a grin spread across her face. Though she did wince at the audible crack that seemed to echo in the air around them.

"That's because you don't," Raggedtooth threw back with a smirk, knowing his friend could take the jest. If he were being honest, part of him was kind of glad that she couldn't see him now. For her, his image would stay whole in her memory. She could truly see beyond his scars. Sure, he knew that someone in the Clan would have described his appearance to her, especially when he was at his worst. Hearing and seeing were very different, though.

Tinybreath let out an amused purr at Raggedtooth's reply, she knew that things had happened to Raggedtooth that had ended up altering his appearance but she would always see him in her mind as she remembered seeing him last. "Oh you wound me, hit me where it hurts" she mewed, her nose twitching.

"You mess with the flame, you get burned," Raggedtooth quipped with a laugh, thoroughly amused with himself. He stuck out his good leg and gave her just a slight nudge in jest. "Glad you're not the only elder cooped up in this den anymore?"

Swatting playfully at the paw that nudged her, Tinybreath twitched her whiskers in amusement. Her ears flicked as thought over his question for a moment "Yes, though have to say haven't been too terribly bored since I was focusing on trying to relearn how to maneuver." she mewed with a shrug of her shoulders "always good to have company"

"That's good," Raggedtooth chuckled before letting the silence settle for a moment. "I was worried about you," he admitted, "but I think you've adjusted well. It could have been very easy to be broken by your experience, but you came out stronger in the end. I don't think there are many cats who could've done that."

Tinybreath felt her ears flick, her fur heating up in embarrassment at his words. "If I had been alone it very may well have broken me, but I had you, my kits, and my clan to help me." she mewed softly, her mind casting her back to the first few days after her accident, when she had still been healing and had turned away all visitors except for Raggedstar. She had felt so alone and had nearly fallen into her mind until Tumblefoot and Twitchstep had showed up, igniting a small landslide of visitors over the following days. "I nearly broke during those first few days, it was the clan that helped push me thru"

Raggedtooth nodded his head in understanding, even though he knew she wouldn't see the action. He could understand that very well. "That is what we are here for," he replied softly. "I would have been lost myself after escaping Eira if it weren't for Trenchflame, Thicketfrost, and yourself."

Tinybreath dipped her head slightly, wondering how they had gotten on this path of conversation. "friends and family are always there." she mewed, her nose twitching slightly. She hesitated for a moment before speaking "Even those no longer with us" her mind casting back to Nimblestep, wondering not for the first time what it would have been like to have siblings.
